Join the Team

Capability Health is growing quickly, making room for more opportunities in both Cairns and Gove. We’re a close-knit, friendly, and hard-working team. We love what we do and we’re seeking out equally passionate and dedicated individuals to join us.

About Us

We’re a friendly occupational health clinic based in Cairns, supporting workplaces across QLD and the NT. Our team is small, but our reach is wide. We pride ourselves on a positive workplace for both our clients and our staff, as we believe that what we put in we get out.

We operate in two ways, delivering myotherapy appointments to the local community, as well as Pre-Employment Medicals to FNQ and beyond, ensuring high-risk workers are safe for site.

Capability Health is a great place to work because of the friendly staff, lovely clients, and because you get to make a difference in the community. We help our myotherapy patients to move well and live better.

About the Role

You’ll be the first point of contact for our clients and patients. You’ll manage bookings, answer the phone, and keep the clinic running smoothly. You’ll also assist Anna in day-to-day tasks such as running the occasional errand.

  • Greeting clients and managing the front desk

  • Answering calls and emails

  • Booking appointments and managing schedules

  • Supporting the clinical team with admin tasks

  • Maintaining tidy and organised reception areas

About You

We’re looking for a ‘people person’ who can welcome our clients with a smile and keep the clinic running smoothly.

Non-negotiables:

  • Friendly and professional communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Confident using computers

  • Reliable and proactive

Nice to have:

  • Experience in admin, reception, or customer service (bonus if in health!)

  • Experience with booking systems or CRM

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

You’ll be welcomed into a small, close-knit team who will always have time to answer questions and have a friendly catch-up. Our approach to work is creating a positive and happy environment that will have a ripple effect on our work and our patients.

We are located in a convenient place with on-site parking available, a modern workspace with a full kitchen, and an area for kids for the occasional after-school hours.

There will be opportunities to learn and grow. The business is expanding quickly and there will be room for the role to grow with it.

How to Apply

JOB OPENING

Medical Receptionist

Our current receptionist, Milly, is unfortunately leaving us to move to Perth. We’re sad to be losing a member of the team, but so happy for Milly and we wish her the best in her next adventure.

She’ll be here until the end of December, so we’re ideally looking for someone who can start mid-December before she leaves so they can experience a bit of a handover.

The job opening is specifically for our Cairns clinic, and will be a casual role to start with, but a view to go to part-time (25-35 hours per week) in the near future.

We’re more interested in a pro-active, positive, and friendly attitude than experience. We can show you the ropes as long as you’re a quick learner and keen.

OTHER ROLES

We’re not actively hiring for any roles, but if the right person comes along we will make room.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us…

You’ll be welcomed into a small, close-knit team who will always have time to answer questions and have a friendly catch-up. Our approach to work is creating a positive and happy environment that will have a ripple effect on our work and our patients.

There will be constant opportunities for training, learning, and development. We prioritise being crystal clear on all compliance standards in the workforce and meeting them without fail, resulting in a culture of ongoing professional development.

Most importantly, you’ll gain the confidence to run clinic days independently and deliver assessments on your own. We regularly travel to worksites and remote areas, so you’ll have the opportunity to work autonomously, with full support until you’re ready.

We have clinics located in both Cairns and Gove, there will be opportunities to visit both and travel with the job within FNQ. That being said, we understand being away from home or family often isn’t always fun or convenient. We value flexibility and respect for staff’s time and personal lives, so you won’t be expected to travel when it doesn’t work for you.

The most exciting part is that Capability Health is quickly expanding, and there will be room for the role to expand with it.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for friendly, hard-working, and dedicated individuals who will fit right in here. We’re not necessarily looking for the most experience, but instead someone who shows up with a great attitude, lifts the team around them, and genuinely enjoys what they do.

The right person will be:

  • Strong clinical assessment skills

  • Empathetic and supportive during assessments

  • Comfortable using EMR systems, audiometers, and spirometers

  • Excellent time management across busy clinic days

  • Understanding of occupational and workplace health standards

  • Flexible and confident working in clinic or onsite

  • Great attention to detail and accurate reporting

  • Reliable, organised, and proud of quality work

If you’re a registered Nurse, Physiotherapist, or Myotherapist with experience in workplace health, we’d love to hear from you. Please send us a copy of your CV and a short cover letter about your experience and work-style to the email below.

We’ll make space for the right people, as we believe having the right people on-side is what sets us apart.
